Privacy
Last updated 6 October 2026. This describes what Telly actually does,
not what a policy of this kind usually says.
The short version. Telly reads the page you are on so it can answer
questions about it. When you ask something, your question and what Telly read
go to a language model to be answered. It does not do this unless you ask.
Nothing you keep — your notes, your watchlist, the prices Telly remembers —
ever leaves your browser.
What happens when you ask a question
This is the part worth understanding, because it is the part where information
leaves your machine.
Telly reads the visible contents of the page you are on: the names of the
markets, the prices, and the surrounding text. When you press the shortcut and
ask something, that reading is sent along with your question through Telly’s
server to a language model, which writes the answer. Where Telly cannot
recognise a page as a market, it falls back to sending up to about 9,000
characters of the page’s visible text so it can still answer.
Telly does not read or send anything while it is simply sitting there. It reads
when you ask.
If you use the voice
Pressing the microphone records you, and that recording is sent to be
transcribed into text. The answer is sent to be turned into speech. Neither the
recording nor the answer is kept once it has been handled.
What we store
| Your email address |
Given when you sign up. Used to issue your key, to give it back to you
when you lose it, and to email you about the test you are part of.
Not sold, not shared, not added to any list you did not ask for. |
| Your key |
A random identifier with a signature over it. It is not derived from
your email and carries nothing about you. |
| How much you have used |
A running count, per month, of model tokens and voice characters
against your key — enough to apply the monthly limit and no more.
Kept for two months, then deleted automatically. |
| What you told us |
If you joined the waitlist, the topics and venues you tapped, so we know
who is waiting and what for. |
What stays in your browser
These never reach us and there is no copy of them anywhere else:
- Notes you keep, and the conversations attached to them.
- Markets you are watching, and the levels you asked to be told about.
- Every price Telly has seen while you browsed.
- Your settings, and your key itself.
Removing the extension removes all of it. There is no account to close and
nothing to download first.
What we never collect
- Your browsing history. Telly only runs on the sites listed in its
permissions, and only reads a page when you ask it something.
- Your balances, positions, or trades. Telly reads prices off a public
page. It has no connection to any account you hold anywhere.
- Passwords, card numbers, or anything you type into a site.
- Your page contents, when you have not asked a question.
The one thing that is optional
There is a setting called Share usage. It is off unless you turn it
on. With it on, Telly sends which sites it worked on and how often — hostnames
and counts, such as kalshi.com: 14. It is restricted at the server
to a hostname and five numbers, so it cannot carry a page address, a query
string, or anything you read. It exists so a small team can tell which venues
are worth the work.
Who else sees it
A privacy policy that would not name these would not be worth reading. When you
ask a question, it passes through:
- Cloudflare — hosts Telly’s server and stores the counts above.
- OpenRouter, and through it Anthropic — writes the answers.
- ElevenLabs — transcribes your voice and speaks the replies.
Each has its own terms covering how long it keeps a request. We do not send them
your email address, and nothing we send them identifies you by name.
Children
Telly is for adults — 21 and over, or 19 in some places. It is not for children
and we do not knowingly collect anything from one.
Asking us to delete it
Email hello@telly.markets and we will
remove your address, your key and your counts. There is not much to remove.
When this changes
If what Telly does with information changes, this page changes with it and the
date at the top moves. While Telly is in testing that may happen more than once.
